I love simple unpretentious food and what falls better under that category more than BBQ… so you can imagine how thrilled I was to find this place—- The Crazy Canuck.

This particular joint was started by two partners who graduated from the Hospitality Management Program at Conestoga College here in Waterloo Ontario. What further helps these two entrepreneurs is the combined 25 years experience  in the restaurant business not to mention a willingness to try something new.

The menu here runs the usual route of Burgers, Sandwiches and Chicken but it also brings out some stuff that is really one of a kind such as a Buffalo Tuscan Pizza (Roasted garlic puree,creamy buffalo sauce,spinach,spicy chicken,cheese medley and feta), Snowshoe Dessert (Warm fluffy dough topped with homemade berry sauce, vanilla ice cream and cinnamon sugar) or the one that I chose that would find me standing in line for hours to get….. Po Boy Poutine (Corn meal prawns and Cajun corn cream sauce with mixed cheese and Cajun coleslaw)

For my money you simply cannot find a better Poutine this side of Montreal Quebec and if you happen to be in the St Jacobs area of Waterloo Ontario you owe it to yourself to visit this place and try anything on the menu but particularly the Po Boy Poutine……. the trip will be well worth it.
